For Solace, a neighbourhood restaurant and cafe in Galway’s Westend, I developed a brand identity that focused on a warm and welcoming community feel with refined, upscale service. In this brief, we were given a detailed list of the client's wants and needs, which we had to meet. I made a design that emphasizes both the restaurant’s local roots and its commitment to high-quality, locally sourced food and drinks.
The logo design reflects Solace’s balance of sophistication and warmth. The color scheme consists of neutral, calming colors that conveys tranquility and sophistication, aligning with the client’s vision of a fine dining experience that remains approachable. Additional brand elements were kept minimal to avoid clutter and to keep an elegant look that enhances the restaurant’s welcoming vibe.
This design approach also ensures that Solace’s brand identity can extend well across various applications, allowing the restaurant to show it’s cohesive, inviting presence. By combining thoughtful simplicity with a community-centered ethos, Solace’s identity celebrates Galway’s local charm while positioning it as a memorable dining destination.
